A new large gem-quality diamond was mined at the ALROSA mine
On July 9, 2019, another large gem-quality diamond weighing 63.15 carats was mined at the Zapolyarnaya pipe of the Verkhne-Munskoe deposit. The crystal has an octahedral shape with small chips on the facets and tops. The mined diamond is transparent with a yellow tint.
The diamond was extracted due to application of X-ray fluorescent separators LS-20-05-2N and LS-50-05 produced by Bourevestnik, JSC.
Separator LS-20-05-2N designed for enrichment of initial diamond-bearing ore of -50 +10 mm coarseness and productivity from 60 to 100 t/h, with recovery of at least 98%.
Separator LS-50-05 is used for finishing of concentrate of -50 + 5 mm in size, productivity from 9 to 30 t/h and recovery of not less than 98.5%.
