The grand opening of the Bourevestnik Innovation Center, a subsidiary of ALROSA (PJSC), took place in St. Petersburg on the territory of the Novoorlovskaya Special Economic Zone on December the 4th, 2018.

The grand opening of the enterprise was attended by: Alexander Beglov, Acting Governor of St. Petersburg, members of the St. Petersburg Government, Sergey Ivanov, Director General of ALROSA, Tamara Rondaleva, Director General of the Special Economic Zone St. Petersburg, and Vladimir Tsvetkov, Director General of the Bourevestnik Innovation Center.

Innovation Center «Bourevestnik» is the largest enterprise in the CIS countries for research, development and production of X-ray equipment for industrial and scientific purposes.

The new plant will allow Bourevestnik Innovation Center JSC to increase production, increase the volume of products and bring our company into the world leaders in the production of diamond ore separators, as well as other science-intensive X-ray equipment. Devices manufactured by Bourevestnik IC JSC are already supplied to the countries of South Africa (Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola, Lesotho), as well as Canada, Australia, Brazil, and there are plans to supply equipment to India.

In this direction, we are supported by the government - we were able to complete the construction thanks to a subsidy from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. “I am confident that this innovative project will be able to make its significant contribution to the development of Russian industry and science,” emphasized ALROSA's CEO Sergey Ivanov.

As part of the opening of the new production site, a tour of the territory of the Bourevestnik Innovation Center was organized. During the tour, the guests were guided through the workshops equipped with modern high-tech machines and demonstrated the operation of the latest devices developed at the enterprise, such as X-ray luminescence separator for enrichment of diamond-containing ore, portable separator for geological exploration POLUS-M, diamond sorting machines by shape and color, X-ray diffractometer DRON-8, X-ray fluorescence wave dispersive analyzer of pulps, suspensions and solutions AR-35 and universal X-ray fluorescence energy dispersive spectrometer BRA-135F.

According to Alexander Beglov, the Acting Governor of St. Petersburg, "the opening of the Bourevestnik Innovation Center is certainly a serious step forward both for the company itself and for the entire city. After all, it is not only the development of high-tech production, but also the appearance of new jobs, and the expansion of production means for us also an increase in tax revenues to the city budget. It is planned to invest an additional billion rubles in “IC «Bourevestnik» and in the near future we can expect an even greater increase in production volumes.”

«The company received the status of a resident of the SEZ «Novoorlovskaya» already in 2012. This is, without exaggeration, a unique environment for active development of innovative business, production of scientific and technical products and their introduction to the Russian and international markets. In fact, it is a new milestone in development,» said Vladimir Tsvetkov, General Director of IC Bourevestnik JSC.

«The effectiveness of the SEZ project and the attractiveness of St. Petersburg as a platform for business is once again confirmed by the fact that such large investors as ALROSA come to us. As our residents, companies reduce their costs by redirecting them to further development of high-tech production facilities. For example, due to the improvement of production lines and their location on smaller premises, Bourevestnik will significantly increase its productivity,» summarized Tamara Rondaleva, Director General of JSC SEZ St. Petersburg.
